Our Scarecrow

If you hang around long you will discover that one of my new favorite victims to take pictures of is our nephew Seth. Since my kids are older and not around alot, Seth seems to be getting more camera time. Here is a layout I completed using the Basic Grey Eerie collection. The costume was actually made by his Grandma Chris who is in one of the pictures.
Here are some close up pictures
After applying the Eerie rubons I used that wonderful product I mentioned a couple posts back, Adirondack® Metallics Acrylic Paint Dabber in Pearl. This gave a shinny look to the corners and I also used it on the chipboard pieces, fence sticker, and spiderwebs.
The spiderweb boarder was made using corrugated cardboard by Canvas Corp. I used the EK Success Large Spider Web Edger Punch and then roughly covered it with Picket Fence Crackle Paint.

Thanks for looking,
Sherrie!

My Grandma . . . June

About 10 years ago my Grandmother June passed away after a very long battle with cancer. I was very close to my grandparents and it was very hard for me. The worst part was that only 3 months after grandma passed my grandfather passed away also. We believe that he just couldn't bear it without her and gave up. They had been married over 60 years. But as a gift, one of my uncles took a picture of my grandmother from when she was just 16 and had copies made. I absolutely love this picture of her. It has taken me awhile to get around to doing it but I finally used it for a layout. The original photo was actually from 1931.
Here are some close ups

Here is a really close up of one of the butterfly's. I actually painted the butterfly's and scrolls white and then inked the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Next I used rock candy crackle paint on them. I used some really thin craft wire to make the antenna. Two of the butterfly's I just used crystal bling for the body, but the other two are actually Jillibean Soup picks that I just cut the pin off of.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!
Sherrie

Another Sneak.....

Here is another sneak at a layout I completed this week for a DT Application.....
So excited about these layouts and can't wait for the final reveal. Of course it is going to be stressful waiting to find out if I made the team!

Something else I wanted to share is a new product I tried out on the above layout.  Its called Adirondack Metallics Acrylic Paint Dabbers. I used the Pearl color and let me tell you it is AWESOME! I am in love with this.
It is so easy to use and comes in regular colors too, not just metalics. If you look close at the above sneak picture you can see it on the corner around the cobweb and on the tree!
