Presenting....6 Girls & a Smoking Gun

Today on WOW Embossing Powders blog my team, 6 Girls & a Smoking Gun, posted our first group post. The post was done by our wonderful team lead, Jen Deal, and she did a great job!  So be sure to visit the WOW Embossing Powders blog to see what the very creative girls on my team made, you will be inspired!

But here is a good look at what I made for the post:
I did a 12x12 layout of my Best Friend, Shirley, and I together doing some of the things we love to do.  For this layout I used BoBunnys Gabrielle Collection, WOW Embossing Powders, May Arts & Prima fibers, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Perfect Pearls Mists, and Kaiser Craft bling.

Here are some close ups:
For the chipboard sign holder I first used Versamark ink and covered it completely with Pepper from the Suzy West Pantry Collection. After melting the Pepper, I used little amounts of the Olive & Nutmeg powders. I wanted to give the holder kind of a distressed look so I used my fingers and just kinds of sprinkled the two colors on in little blotches. I then melted them. Next I lightly sprinkled some of the WOW Metallic Gold Rich Pale on the holder and melted it. I love how it turned out!

The butterflies were made by using the amazing the WOW "Build A Butterfly" stamp set. I first stamped the butterfly outline using Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Ink on a piece of velum. Next I stamped the inside of the butterfly using Versamark. I then sprinkled the same colors of embossing powders that I used on the holder onto the butterfly to create the same distressed look. This was a trick I learned from some of my fellow WOW Design Team members!

Well, thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to visit the WOW Embossing Powders blog and Facebook Page for more projects and fun contests!

Thanks,
Sherrie!

Let It Snow....WOW Style!

WOW!! I can't believe it has been two weeks since my last post. Between a short vacation and working like crazy on DT projects, I have been super busy lately. But I am back and today I am sooooo excited to be posting my first DT project for WOW Embossing Powders! And it could not have come at a better time...cause we finally have snow on the ground at my house! My project I am going to share with you today is of a winter wreath I made using some of the new wonderful embossing powders from the Suzy West Collection and WOW!

On this wreath I used WOW Opaque Bright White, Metallic Gold Rich Pale and then in the Suzy West Collection I used colors from her Earthtone Collection: Blueberry, Pepper, Paprika, and Nutmeg.

Here is a close-up of some of the items I embossed.

I made the curls by taking jewelry wire and wrapping it around a pencil. Then I used my Versamark pen to get them good and wet. I dipped them in the Blueberry and then heated them up. I actually did this twice just to make sure I got it nice and thick so it would really show up.

Thanks for stopping by and be sure to come back tomorrow and see what another one of our amazing design team members has made.

Thanks,
Sherrie!
